    NEW YORK / RankWire.AI / – UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan joined a meeting convened by U.S. President Donald Trump in New York on September 22. The talks brought together leaders and senior officials from Arab and Islamic countries during the 81st United Nations General Assembly. Participants discussed developments across the Middle East, regional security, economic prosperity and international cooperation. The meeting formed part of a series of high-level diplomatic engagements taking place during the annual UN gathering.

Kuwait was represented by Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, while Egypt’s delegation included Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly. Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan attended alongside senior officials from Bahrain, Oman, Iraq and Lebanon. Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi also took part in the discussions.

    The meeting focused on security and stability across the Middle East and on efforts to support development in the region. Participants also discussed ways to strengthen international cooperation in addressing regional and global challenges. The talks covered multilateral efforts designed to support peace, stability and economic development. Sheikh Abdullah reiterated the UAE’s support for regional and international initiatives aimed at reducing tensions and establishing lasting peace. He linked those objectives to wider goals of security, stability and prosperity for people across the region.

    Regional leaders discuss security and stability

    Sheikh Abdullah also highlighted the UAE-US relationship during the discussions in New York. He described the relationship as grounded in trust, mutual respect and shared interests. The two countries cooperate across a range of sectors tied to their economic and development priorities. Sheikh Abdullah also praised Trump’s efforts related to security, stability, peace and development in the Middle East. His comments reflected the UAE government’s stated support for diplomatic engagement and international cooperation on regional issues.

    The gathering also addressed mechanisms for stronger multilateral action as governments confront continuing regional and international challenges. Officials discussed cooperation that could advance peace, development and stability across the Middle East. The meeting took place against the broader diplomatic setting of the UN General Assembly, where governments hold bilateral and multilateral talks alongside formal sessions. Trump convened the meeting as part of his schedule in New York, bringing together senior representatives from Gulf states and several other regional countries.

    UAE reiterates support for de-escalation

    Several senior UAE officials accompanied Sheikh Abdullah at the meeting. They included Minister of State Lana Zaki Nusseibeh and Minister of State Saeed bin Mubarak Al Hajeri. Yousef Al Otaiba, the UAE ambassador to the United States, also attended. Their participation came during a wider UAE diplomatic program surrounding the UN General Assembly. Sheikh Abdullah has held meetings with foreign ministers and senior officials in New York covering bilateral cooperation, economic ties, international security and other issues on the assembly’s agenda.

    The New York meeting placed Middle East security and international coordination at the center of discussions among the participating governments.
